(Don't miss the photo of "Nour on the wing" at the end of this block of text)
Meet R.N. “Nour” Jurgenson, Ron's life partner.
According to Ron, Nour's innate savoir-faire has served her well in situations ranging from unexpected encounters with insurgents in combat zones to delicate diplomatic meetings inWashington, DC. Ron describes her as a "philosopher of eclecticism".
Nour is a past president of the White House News Photographers Association and a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Press Club.
She is a mother to four children (hers mine and Ron's) and was once the goal keeper for an amateur women's soccer team.
As a child she traveled extensively throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East with her mother, a sculptress, and father, a scientist, and engineer. Along the way she assimilated the languages, histories and local customs of many of the people she met.
As a photojournalist she has covered everything from the Vietnam War to Capitol Hill and the White House, to American Indian issues in Alaska.
For many years she traveled almost exclusively by BMW motorcycle (including trips to the White House) and also harbors a passion for “wing walking”. For several years she was one of the best in the world.
Nour is also the last person on Earth to extol her own virtues, which is why Ron has written what you are reading here. Suffice it to say that “Nour rocks!”
